Mining protein-protein interactions for targeted cancer drug discovery

Orally dosed abbapolins were studied for how the body handles them. In a PC-3 xenograft, 6369 and 6190 reduced tumor volume, with no overt signs of toxicity.

Abbapolins 6157, 6171, and 6190 were screened across the NCI-60 panel. They are active in prostate, CNS, and colorectal lines, but not breast lines, and COMPARE points to a shared mechanism unlike other compounds tested there.
